Almost every house in the world has some form of PC, but isn’t it amazing that these PCs have very little customisation and that they are all very standard. As an example, most likely they have Windows OS, are made by Dell/HP or some other manufacturer, so the look and feel of the PC will be similar. The PC will have the same type of ROM and RAM, and other standard interfaces such as USB and parallel ports.
Now if we move into the software area, again most likely they will have standard Microsoft software such as MS Office and other popular software programs. So again the question is, what on our PC can be customised?
In an ideal world I would like the ability to customise lots of things, for example:
When I log on (or boot up), I would like the PC to say “Good Morning Jaime, how are you today?”
Then when I check my emails, I would like my email program to check the contents of the mail, and if its not important to say ”Rayaz, don’t bother with these, they are not important, read them later”
And when you see the dialogue box saying “Send Error Report” or “Don’t Send”, I would rename them as follows:
“Send Error Report” would become: “Tell Microsoft they’ve screwed up again!”
“Don’t Send” would change to: “Don’t bother, Microsoft won’t do anything anyway!”
The sky’s the limit for ideas on how to customise your PC, you are only limited by your imagination (and Microsoft!)
